 I started teaching with SA Education Dept and progressed rapidly to teacher consultant and trainer in Outdoor Education with a specific focus on water adventures.

Prime Minister Whitlam Lost his job and my salary line was cut, so I launched into other tourism, and hospitality Care services adventures.  Back into normal schools was not a good future for me.

I converted our family guest house into a Nursing Home/Aged care business from 1975-79 and started a Retirement Village project in Victor Harbor.  

I sold that project and purchased and redeveloped a tourism accommodation business in Victor Harbor winning a State tourism award in 1986.  At this time I registered this charity as Encounter Coast Outdoor School Inc. and worked it within the Accommodation business. (I Gained a Master Inland Waters qualification to work River Boats as part of the Outdoor School.)

In 2005 I registered the Outdoor School as a residential senior high school but could not achieve sufficient enrolment for viability. It continued operating as a school camp service until 2000 when I retired.

Finding Retirement uninteresting, I renamed the charity  ANCOM on Murray Inc. and moved into VET training services with accredited First Aid & Boat Licence Training. - - - - - - - - - - - - 

  Teacher, Principal, Lecturer in Education (18 years part-time Uni SA), Manager, Home Education. I led the Teachers Union campaign for merit selection and helped design the Merit Selection procedures for the Education Department, SA. 

I led the JESIFA project, a joint union-education department project which informed all teachers in SA about the problems with teacher mobility and promotion and led to the 4-year compulsory transfer system. 

I helped write the English Course for the Education Department and chaired the implementation committee for ELIC (Early Literacy Inservice Course) and LLIMY (Language and Literacy in the Middle Years) teacher in-service courses. 

I have been a director of ACEL since its inception in 1978 and Chair of the Royal Lifesaving Society for 14 years. I also started the first DEET Job skills course for Lifeguards in 2001 and ran the course for 4 years. I recently worked on the Education Department's Change Review Team for Volunteer Support. 

I have supported various school leadership teams for the past 21 years, specialising in change management processes.

State and National Committee Member of ITECA   Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia the peak body representing independent providers in higher education.

Accredited Trainer/Assessor for a wide range of ASQUA Certificates of Competency.
