We start Residential Transition Ed. with service and caring skills training, both good for immediate casual income. Hospitality and care services skills are in high demand.
People still need good meals and caring assistance for all ages, especially as they get older. Lonely people can find comfort and friends in good hotels. People need places where they can meet to enjoy the company of others, to enjoy the time when they do not have to work, time for music, and other forms of relaxation so essential for wellness. The skilled hospitality and care worker is in high demand. Care is not only provided in hospitals or nursing homes, it also happens in every pub where people can relax and enjoy the company of others. Good hoteliers are very skilled carers.
Aerie Hotel School is planned to assist disrupted youth to complete their SACE with programs in Hotel School VET training - Caring and chatting, Hospitality, Cookery, Table service, Bar service, Room service, housekeeping, and a wide range of other in-home aged care services. Some of the hotel rooms will be refurnished to YHA-style accommodation for students. Other will remain for normal Family hotel Accommodation according to industry demand.
All students can participate in learning all the hospitality functions of the Hotel. The skilled hotelier is the ultimate care service provider, the caring barman listens to the lonely person and introduces people in the bar, meal service, cookery, and accommodation services.
Only youth over the age 18 can work with alcohol service but younger ones can complete all the other hospitality and care services skills to enable them to find employment in hotels, resorts, and other hospitality and care service industries with qualifications and experience.
As Mannum is very much a tourism town, all students will be involved with a range of tourism adventure activities skills development, kayaking, Sailing, Rowing, Cycling, and group leadership training including river boat operations that could lead them into the College's River Boat School Camp operations.
Our play ground is the river and boats.
The Hotel will continue its normal hotel and bottle shop services with all Aerie Students participating to learn the general operations within the tourism-hospitality industries.
Buy a share in the pub lease? Family member Investors will benefit from share-ownership of the pub lease with benefits for purchase of student accommodation, and meals etc..
Our Member Loan License to Occupy is an easy way to own a share in a community pub. Small Loan. Small risk. Great benefit. Look at our LLtO Members invest plan.
The fully staffed Hotel is currently making a small return for the absent lease owner who wants to sell the lease. Overlaying the existing business with our Teacher staffed Residential Transition College will greatly enhance the financial viability of the hotel business.
We have a cooperative arrangement with the Mannum Community College to admit students who want to complete SACE.
Phone Principal, Capt. Bouc to discuss this opportunity. 0418 836 137
We can arrange for SACE Completion at Mannum Community College and VET Hospitality Certificates if Certificates are seen to have value. They will have the skills regardless of the certificates. We always provide reference for our Community members when moving on to other work futures. They are always welcome at a Community residence. We build good industry teams.
Resident Parent Eagles will make sure all our wild ones are living happily together. They will always have the total support of the College staff. All students must play by the normal game rules and the staff, including Parent Eagles, are the umpires with the yellow cards.
Our collegiate community focus is on the "Cracked Pots OR Wild Child"; the imperfect, the different, the unhappy teens, and young adults, who have been on an unhappy flight path for whatever reason.
The 6-week Entry Cruise will be the time when we select the young ones we believe we can help. We know they may need to learn new ways.. We all help in the learning process, but we demand total respect and safety from everyone on campus. There are only three "yellow card emails" for each student. The "Red card email" lives in the principal's computer.
We are selective in our enrolment to admit young ones who we believe will be happy within our community to find a rewarding new flight path. We provide a safe home for them to refresh their feathers and start a new way forward. The Principal only looks at their past to plan how to help them in the future. Every student enters Aerie with only their own story to tell. This is knows as their clean slate.
