Don't let them jump out of education.
Safe time out with Aerie Transition College will help them.
It is a safe place where disruptive teens can recover their dreams and preen their feathers for different flight paths away from their bad whatever storms.
Living with Aerie Collegiate wild-ness encourages young birds to repair and smooth their brain feathers.
We encourage youth to experience the wild way, (singing, dancing, shouting at the wind, jumping into cold water, working hard under our safety rules.
It takes time. Without parental trust we are unable to work our magic.
All young people dream of happy family, and so they should.
Some see their dreams as impossible, destroyed, or mentally crushed by incompetent teaching, school demands or home/family stress.
They can't cope.
Their spirit is broken and they are depressed.
Some think of suicide.
They need to shake their feathers like eagles after a storm, rest up for a while in a safe place, and dream up great ideas.
Aerie Residential Transition College is a safe place to be different.
A safe 1st step away from your old life.
BUT Always check on family.
They may need you.
Aerie Transition College helps unhappy 16+ teens through their transition to adult years. You sleep in shared cabins and work in pairs forming teams on a flight path toward happiness to finish your high school time and enter into Vocational Training.
Aerie will help you plan you future in safety, perhaps finish SACE, perhaps do VET. You will help operate the Aerie Family Residential hotel to to learn hospitality skills and create a new flight path into wellness, tourism, hospitality, cooking, care services, and adventure leadership.
You can change your flight path later if you want. Then you will then have the skills to see your best way forward.
YES. Students can gain SACE Points in the learning program if they are needed. We arrange this through the Mannum Community College.
Scroll down to the bottom of this page for the Living/Learning program for this entry cruise. It is the introduction to Aerie Residential Transition College's five year SACE-VET program.
"There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular, and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not." ~ Kenneth Grahame's "Wind in the Willows"
An unhappy, miserable child is unable to learn. SO first we build their "happy now".
Aerie College living helps youth empty their "I can't" backpack and fill it with "I can".
Give the wild or miserable child time out with Aerie Transition team to remove the source of their pain. Their pain may be from their home environment. - - - It may be from their school - - - Maybe their bad group of "friends". Whatever the cause, Aerie Wildness Transition College family membership can create change for them to enable them to get on with learning for a good future.
YES. The "Wild Child" is likely to find happiness and success within our community.
Students, pack your backpacks for your "Orientation River Ramble wild-ness adventure". Make sure you pack your "My misery list" to get rid of. Take some "Me time" to write that list before you join the cruise. It is yours. Do not show it to anyone.
A maximum of 16 student places are available in the 6-week riverboat school-camp-style River Ramble cruise that operates over the summer school holidays and during school term time on enrolment demand. Students get to know Aerie staff and staff get to know the students. Up to 16 places are available for each 6 week cruise.
Aerie Transition College is different. It is like a long school camp in close living/learning activities planned to assist youth who are having problems with their education for many different reasons. Our major focus is on wilderness adventure learning to build wellness, safe partnerships, and friendship teams. Both Students and Aerie College staff need to be sure our assistance will benefit each student. Some will find the Aerie Collegiate lifestyle wrong for them. They will leave with our best wishes. We are unable to continue with disruptors. The 6 week river cruise will see if we all can live with each other as a different large family group.
THE NORMAL TEAM SPORTS GAME RULES APPLY. Students must be supportive team players and good partners for success within the Aerie Community.
Three strikes and they are out. Senior Aerie Teachers always hold the red card.
Young members and staff are "All in the same boat" to build a good living family team.
Family members are welcome for all, or part of the cruise and to participate in the Aerie adventure cruise events.
Transition students stay on "Aerie" and families can join our play time.
It can be a good family fun holiday or time out for the whole family, especially if your Teen member is having problems. Your teen will be in the Aerie Boat with us and other teens all probably having similar problems, they are "All in the same boat" learning how to change. Aerie College can help them.
Respite with Aerie College teams living and wilderness learning adventures can help disrupted and depressed youth reset their brain and create a new flight path for their future.
Cruise School "Aerie" will be managed by a resident full-time 2-person crew providing student care services and supervision. They manage the residential operations, catering, and Cruise. Aerie College's teaching staff will supervise the learning programs. Most Aerie College teachers will visit the cruise for a specific teaching period. Some stay overnight. At least one teacher will always be on "Aerie" during the induction Cruise.
Aerie College provides Maritime Coxswain VET training. All students gain "Logged Sea Time" while on "Aerie Imagination Cruises".

This part of the movie "Sister Act 2" is a good example of our wild-ness fun teaching style, we all have a good time while learning to share our best. Everyone has at least one unique instrument, their voice. Music fills a large part of our fun time. Bring your other instruments if you can.
Aerie Residential Transition College cruise entry is like a six week long school camp, providing an opportunity for disrupted, depressed, unhappy, or just different youth, 15-24yrs, to take a different path towards their future through wild-ness adventure learning. Wilderness areas, like the ancient River Murray, are places to learn in different ways and refresh their attitude towards life, wellness, happiness, and to find a desired future dream.
